Keyshawn Frazier is the current Eagle Radio Station manager and author of the short story “Carlton”. He’s also working on creating content that can also be heard, and watched.

Episode 177 - Katie O'Connor

Katie O’Connor is a Professor of Communication Studies at Florida SouthWestern State College, and a Ph.D. Candidate at Antioch University where she is earning her Doctorate in Leadership and Change. She was recently awarded “Teacher of the Year” through the Florida Communication Association. 

Episode 176 - Cath Branwood

Cath Branwood is a painter, digital and visual artist, photographer and spoken word poet. Her solo art exhibit titled “The Me You Them Exhibit” is on display through July 29th at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers.

Episode 175 - Justin Paprocki

Justin Paprocki is the student media adviser for Eagle Media and an adjunct instructor at FGCU. He's been in the news business since 1997, previously serving as an editor at Gulfshore Life and Gulfshore Business magazines. 

Episode 174 - Armando Llechu

Armando Llechu is Chief Officer of Hospital Operations and Women and Children’s Services at Lee Health in Fort Myers and he previously served as Chief Administrative Officer for Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. 

He also led a team in collaboration with Lee Physicians Group in the development of a comprehensive pediatric mental and behavioral health program, including the addition of 12 mental health providers, resulting in a 1000% increase in available patient appointments.

Episode 173 - Michael and Jordan Von Cannon

Michael Von Cannon is co-creator and producer of the Ernest Hemingway-related show One True Podcast. He's also a teacher, writer, podcaster, and Instructor in the Department of Language and Literature at FGCU. Dr. Jordan Von Cannon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Language and Literature at FGCU and is currently completing a manuscript called Idle Women which considers female resistance to U.S. industriousness in 19th-century narratives.

Episode 172 - Jared "The Intern" Gonzalez

Jared Gonzalez is our show intern, and a Journalism major starting his senior year at FGCU. He’s a part of Eagle Radio and has his own podcast on it called Razzle Dazzle. 

Episode 171 - Dongjing Kang

Dongjing Kang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Philosophy at FGCU. Born and raised in Sichuan, China Dongjing grew up under the strictures of the Communist party at the time. Her current work focuses on language revitalization and cultural preservation in Tibet. She is also writing a book on U.S. and Chinese media representation of Tibet.

Episode 169 - Brigadier General Jim "Boots" Demarest

Jim “Boots” Demarest is a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Fighter Weapons School (the USAF version of “Top Gun”) program and served in Desert Storm as an F-15 fighter pilot. He’s currently a Brigadier General in the Florida Air National Guard. 

Episode 168 - Dr. Brandon Jett

Dr. Brandon Jett is an award-winning scholar, writer, and teacher of American history and crime, violence, and criminal justice in the United States, He is the author of “Race, Crime, and Policing in the Jim Crow South” which comes out next month. Brandon is also a professor at Florida Southwestern State College.

Episode 167 - Jade Dellinger

Jade Dellinger is co-author of the book Are We Not Men? We are DEVO! and has organized major solo and two-person museum shows for artists including Yoko Ono, Ann Hamilton, James Franco, Robert Rauschenberg, Keith Haring, and Jack Kerouac. He is best known locally for his exhibition program Bob Rauschenberg Gallery. 

Episode 166 - Mary Walch

Mary Walch is an Assistant professor in the Department of Communication and Philosophy at FGCU. Originally from the anthracite coal region in Eastern Pennsylvania, Mary has worked in public relations in New York, and met her husband (Episode 81 guest) Sam while working on her doctorate. She also taught us a Russian drinking song!

Episode 165 - Ami Desamours

Ami is the Chief Financial Officer for the School District of Lee county FL, and has worked for the school district for the last 16 years. We talked about how history and music collide, what it feels like to not understand your kids' music, and how Hip Hop entered the mainstream.

Episode 164 - Annabelle Tometich

Annabelle Tometich is a journalist and food writer for The News-Press, Naples Daily News and USA TODAY Network. For the last 15 years she hid behind the “Jean Le Boeuf” restaurant critic pseudonym.

Episode 163 - Gwynetta Gittens

Gwynetta S. Gittens was the first Black person, man or woman, ever to be elected to the school board in Lee County, in 2018 - a position she still holds today. She received her bachelors and masters degrees in psychology from University of Maryland and University of Indiana while living in Puerto Rico, and has a masters of education from Nova Southeastern University.

Episode 162 - Molly Deckart

Molly Deckart has worked in the nonprofit arts world for the past 15 years, most recently as the new Executive Director at the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers. She also founded the Idaho Horror Film Festival.

Episode 161 - Hugh Starnes

Hugh Starnes is a retired Judge who stepped down last year, in order to speak out about what he sees as, “deep, serious flaws in our society” including systemic racism. 

In his resignation letter to Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice, Charles Canady, Starnes wrote, “My value system will not allow me to sit silently by while our society struggles to deal with these flaws that tear at the very fabric of our society and democracy, and worse, while the upper echelon of our federal government appears to be aggravating these flaws rather than attempting to solve them. This presents an irreconcilable conflict with my position as a judge, bound by judicial ethics that require me to say nothing.”
